About Topkapı Juwelier
We have one shop, on Javastraat, and we do the work in person. Our customers across Amsterdam East come from the Turkish, Dutch and many other communities; in the shop we speak Dutch, Turkish and English.
Why in the shop?
Gold colour never translates to a screen. The deep yellow of 22 karat and the lighter tone of 14 karat are obvious side by side and invisible in a single photo. Weight is the same: how a bangle sits on the wrist only becomes clear once it is on.
That is why we do not sell through the site. We show the collection to give you a sense of it, and let the decision happen in the shop.
We are direct about purity
In the Netherlands an item must be at least 585 (14 karat) to be called gold, and pieces above 1 gram must carry a hallmark. Many of our customers are used to 22 karat, so we explain the difference upfront: which one suits you depends on how often you will wear the piece.
We will not rush you
Jewellery usually comes with an occasion: an engagement, a wedding, a birth, an anniversary. Those decisions deserve time. If your budget is fixed we will talk through where giving ground shows least, and if a piece is not right for you we will say so.
After you buy
We look after what we sell. Come back for polishing, clasp repairs, resizing and stone checks. We also buy gold: your piece is weighed, its purity checked, and you are paid on the spot.
